You should know which skill carries the campaign, what sort of defences it wants, and when the main upgrades usually arrive. That is enough to get moving. A build guide with a few gaps is still more useful than three half-finished ideas competing for your attention.

Open the community plan, glance through the early passive-tree path, and check the first important equipment changes. You do not need to inspect every level, calculate every damage tick, or solve your character for maps you have not reached yet.
