Overwhelming Aspect: The Build's Main Damage Multiplier

The Overwhelming Aspect is the foundation of the build's burst damage. It grants 34% increased damage against Elite enemies for each Overpower stack.

With Command Volokh and the Hematite Stone generating up to 16 Overpower stacks, this creates a massive 544% damage multiplier. Against Hexed targets, the effect can become even stronger, pushing the total multiplier beyond 1,000%.

This makes maximizing Overpower stacks before casting Apocalypse one of the most important parts of the build's rotation.

Hematite Stone: Massive Overpower Scaling

The Hematite Stone received a major upgrade for Season 15, increasing the potency of Command Volokh, Ritualist Shard, and its associated Fragments to 200%, compared with 100% previously.

The upgraded effect significantly improves the damage, size, and Overpower generation of the build's Occult skills. With enough investment, the build can consistently reach the 16-stack Overpower threshold required for its biggest Apocalypse hits.

Binding Flame Gets Even Stronger

Binding Flame has also received substantial improvements to its Volatile Hellfire multipliers.

Since the build relies heavily on Hellfire skills to generate hits and trigger its damage loop, these improvements directly increase its overall damage output.

Scepter of the Three Finally Fits the Build

Scepter of the Three was previously difficult to justify because its Apocalypse-related buff expired too quickly to maintain reliably during longer encounters.

Season 15 changes make the effect much easier to sustain. The weapon now becomes a legitimate option for the build, providing 15 ranks to Ultimate skills alongside a powerful damage multiplier.

How the Apocalypse Warlock Build Works

The build revolves around three interconnected mechanics: Overpower stacking, Hellfire hit generation, and repeated Apocalypse casts.

Building Overpower Stacks

A typical combat sequence looks like this:

Cast Bombardment to begin generating Overpower stacks.
Use Umbral Chains to generate additional hits and accelerate the Apocalypse cycle.
Maintain Dark Prison for damage reduction and enemy weakening.
Cast Command Volokh to push Overpower toward its maximum.
Activate Sigil of Subversion to Hex enemies.
Reach 100 stacks and unleash Apocalypse for maximum burst damage.

The exact timing can vary depending on enemy density and gear, but the basic goal remains the same: build as many Overpower stacks as possible before using Apocalypse.

Apocalypse Becomes Nearly Spammable

The Annihilation node removes Apocalypse's normal cooldown. Instead, the skill becomes available after generating enough hits with Hellfire abilities.

You can technically cast Apocalypse with fewer stacks, but waiting until the Overpower setup is fully charged produces dramatically higher damage.

Umbral Chains is particularly useful because it generates hits rapidly, allowing the build to cycle back into Apocalypse quickly.

Volatility and Hellfire Synergy

Ritualist Shard and Scorching Fragment add another layer to the damage engine by incorporating Volatility into the Hellfire rotation.

Volatility increases the effectiveness of Hellfire skills, while Sigil of Chaos helps maintain the effect for longer periods.

The result is a feedback loop in which Hellfire generates hits, hits enable Apocalypse, and the resulting explosions rapidly clear surrounding enemies.

Hands of the World Breaker is one of the most important uniques in the setup. It provides a major damage multiplier for Apocalypse and converts the skill into a Sigil skill, allowing it to benefit from additional interactions within the build.

Leoric's Crown

Leoric's Crown provides an enormous defensive boost and is one of the main reasons the build can reach more than 25 million Toughness.

This defensive layer is particularly valuable when pushing high-tier Pit content where a single mistake can otherwise end a run.
